Optometrists are trained professionals involved in diagnosis and treatment of visual defects with the help of optical instruments. Their job profile includes examination of eye, refraction, orthoptic check-up, prescription of glasses & contact lenses, and rehabilitation of low vision patients.
They are the primary health care providers for the diagnosis and treatment of the eye diseases and refractive disorders. They can also specialize in the field of contact lens, orthotics, low vision aids, sports vision, pediatric optometry, behavioral optometry etc. The course is career offering in nature that opens many scopes for the students both in private and government sectors.
